MEET THE CHAMPION: LOKI THE DECEIVER

In the dark fantasy RPG world of RAID: Shadow Legends, the being known as Loki the Deceiver enjoyed the many pleasures of Teleria, reveling in mischief and trickery. ‘Twas then that the Great Divorce, a catastrophic war between the gods Siroth and Lumaya, birthed resentment in Loki’s heart.

As time passed, he found himself in the Fae Court of Asgard, journeying throughout the Redspike Mountains with his brother-in-adventures, Thor Faehammer. Yet, the ever-present mischief in his heart rose, giving birth to a plan to rid the world of Siroth and Lumaya. He left without a word, and years passed before Freyja Fateweaver was granted visions of Loki’s scheme.

Thus, the Asgard Divide formed – with Loki the Deceiver’s former friends Thor Faehammer, Freyja Fateweaver, and Odin Faefather seeking to make Loki answer for his crimes.

Check out our guide on how to use the Legendary Barbarian Champion Loki the Deceiver in RAID: Shadow Legends, and manipulate your enemies with this trickster’s tools!

WHY PLAY LOKI THE DECEIVER IN RAID: SHADOW LEGENDS?

Loki the Deceiver more than lives up to his name in RAID: Shadow Legends with a kit that is focused around manipulation and misdirection. Loki can extend the duration of enemy debuffs, evade an enemy’s skill entirely, and mess with buffs and debuffs to support your team while bamboozling your enemies.

Whether you’re looking for a chaotic conspirator, an exceptional evader, or you’re just looking to cause some mayhem, Loki the Deceiver is a fantastic Champion and a must-have ally in RAID: Shadow Legends.

WHAT ARE LOKI THE DECEIVER’S SKILLS?

When it comes to understanding Loki’s skills, it’s all about being aware of buffs, debuffs, and the Turn Meter before turning all of those to your advantage in battle. This Fae trickster is focused on giving enemies a real headache, so check out the full list of Loki the Deceiver’s skills in RAID: Shadow Legends!

  • Flames of Mischief – Attacks all enemies. Has a 30% chance of increasing the duration of all enemy debuffs by 1 turn. If this Champion is under a Veil or Perfect Veil buff, the chance increases to 50%.
  • Deceiver’s Gambit – Select a target. If the target is an enemy, has a 75% chance of placing a Block Active Skills debuff and a Block Buffs debuff for 2 turns. If the Champion using this skill is under a Veil or Perfect Veil buff, also applies a Debuff Spread effect, taking 2 random debuffs from the target and placing them on all enemies.

If the target is an ally or this Champion, heals them by 50% of this Champion’s MAX HP and places a Perfect Veil buff on them for 2 turns. If this Champion is under a Veil or Perfect Veil buff, also applies a Buff Spread effect, taking a random buff from the target and placing it on all allies.

  • Bandit Flash – Has a 75% chance of stealing all buffs from a target enemy and 100% of their Turn Meter. These effects cannot be resisted if this Champion is under a Veil or Perfect Veil buff. If the target’s Turn Meter was not stolen, fills the Turn Meters of all allies by 15% instead. Also places a 50% Increase ATK buff on all allies for 2 turns.
  • Mist Step [P] – [Passive Effect] – Places a Perfect Veil buff on this Champion for 2 turns at the start of each Round. Also places a Perfect Veil buff on this Champion for 1 turn whenever their HP drops below 50%. Has a 15% chance to Evade an enemy skill and all of its accompanying effects. If this Champion is under a Veil or Perfect Veil buff, the chance to Evade increases to 30%.

[Active Effect] – If this Champion’s HP is below 50% HP when targeted by an enemy skill, has a 100% chance to Evade that skill and all of its accompanying effects. This guaranteed Evade then goes on cooldown.

Loki the Deceiver also has an Aura that increases the Accuracy of all allies in all battles by 60.

LOKI THE DECEIVER RECOMMENDATIONS

With a kit that is focused around placing buffs and debuffs, then manipulating them to his team’s advantage, Loki the Deceiver is best used as a fast and accurate Support Champion. Masking himself from an enemy’s view using a Perfect Veil buff allows him to place and spread valuable debuffs on them, and wreak havoc.

Check out our recommendations for the perfect Gear, Masteries, Blessings, and more to get the most out of Loki the Deceiver in RAID: Shadow Legends!

MASTERIES

Given Loki’s focus on placing debuffs, extending their duration, and stealing Turn Meter, you’ll want any Masteries to focus on granting him additional Accuracy, such as Pinpoint Accuracy, Charged Focus, and Swarm Smiter at Tiers 1, 2, and 3 of the Support Mastery Tree. From there, you can build towards even greater enhancements to Loki’s Accuracy with the Tier 6 Mastery, Eagle-Eye.

To make sure Loki is able to stay in the fight long enough to land his debuffs, upping his Resistance and survivability with Masteries from the Defense Tree is also a good idea. Defiant is a good starting point to increase Resistance by 10 points, and Masteries such as Blastproof and Delay Death enable Loki to mitigate the damage he receives from enemy attacks. Finally, Cycle of Revenge will also help Loki manipulate the Turn Meters of his allies, helping them get back to taking their turn quicker.

GEAR

Building Loki the Deceiver with the correct Gear will largely focus on augmenting his Accuracy, HP, and Speed stats. To that end, we recommend that you equip Loki in Gear such as Perception, Speed, or Accuracy.

Another recommendation we’d make is Protection Gear, which can be earned from fighting the Hydra each week. If equipped with the full 9-piece Protection Set, Loki will have an additional 40 points of Resistance, 32% Speed, and 15% HP, as well as the 75% chance to place protected buffs on allies.

Another good Set for Loki is the Feral Set, which can be earned by seizing victory in Siege. This 9-piece Set grants the wearer an additional 120 points of Accuracy, 15% Speed, a Block Debuffs buff at the start of every Round, and a 50% chance to prevent the placement of Sheep debuffs via the Polymorph Blessing. Loki will also enhance his allies’ damage output by 5% for each active debuff he places on enemies.

The additional Accuracy and Speed means Loki is able to set up his debuffs on enemies before they even know what’s hit them without being debuffed himself.

BLESSINGS

When it comes to choosing the right Blessing for Loki the Deceiver, there are a number of viable options. One of our recommendations is Intimidating Presence – a great Blessing if you’re looking to enhance the potency of your team lead’s Aura, and decrease the efficiency of the enemy’s Aura at the same time. Polymorph is another great Blessing for any Support-type Champion, to ensure that enemies have a chance at being turned into a Sheep when trying to place debuffs.

LOKI THE DECEIVER TACTICS

For those looking to get the most out of Loki the Deceiver, you’ll find him best suited to taking on the Hydra and facing down enemies in the Arena. With his Perfect Veil buff placement and healing support, as well as powerful debuff placement and manipulation, Loki can disorient his opponents. Loki’s signature mechanic is his ability to Evade an enemy’s skill entirely, dodging damage, debuffs, and all things detrimental to him. It’s the perfect mechanic for a master of chaos.

DUNGEONS

In the Dungeons of Teleria, Loki can be a useful ally with his healing and buff support. Clearing waves becomes much easier when Loki is able to place Block Active Skills and Block Buffs on a single enemy, with a chance to spread a single debuff to all enemies if he’s under a Veil or Perfect Veil buff.

Likewise for taking on Bosses, Loki’s varied set of skills makes him a formidable ally to have when taking on any of Teleria’s toughest foes. Extending debuffs such as Poison can be very useful for taking on the Dragon’s Lair, and the Turn Meter steal in Loki’s third skill can prove very helpful in the Spider’s Den, Fire Knight’s Castle, and Ice Golem’s Peak.

DOOM TOWER

Facing off against waves of enemies and placing valuable debuffs against enemies that can’t target him due to Perfect Veil is Loki’s bread and butter. You’ll find great value from Loki in the regular Floors of the Doom Tower, as well as any Secret Rooms that require Legendary Champions, Champions that are Spirit Affinity, or Champions from the Barbarians Faction.

FACTION WARS

Similar to his viability in the Dungeons and Doom Tower, Loki will thrive against the waves of enemies in Faction Wars. However, his ability to place Veil or Perfect Veil on himself and an ally will help grant lower-HP Champions extra survivability against the Faction Crypt Keepers on Stages 7, 14, and 21. He’s an outstanding Support-type Champion who can help conquer the Barbarians Faction Crypt.

LOKI THE DECEIVER TEAM COMBINATIONS

Requiring a Veil or Perfect Veil buff to unleash the maximum potential of his skills mean that Loki the Deceiver will pair extremely well with any Champion in RAID: Shadow Legends that places one of those buffs, such as the Legendary Demonspawn Champion, Duchess Lilitu.

While under a Veil or Perfect Veil buff, Loki can spread a buff across all allies, which makes a lot of Champions who place buffs on a single target viable picks. For example, Sun Wukong can steal buffs from an enemy, so healing him and taking one random buff to place on all allies could come in very handy in certain situations.

In terms of a damage-dealer to pair with Loki the Deceiver, there’s the starter Champion Kael for those whose journey is just beginning.

Another Champion coming as part of the Asgard Divide event in RAID: Shadow Legends is Thor Faehammer, a mighty damage-dealer who can self-buff himself to deal increased damage. Coupled with Loki the Deceiver, Thor can deal that damage while under a Veil or Perfect Veil buff to ensure he can’t be stopped by a well-timed debuff from an enemy.

Working together as part of the Barbarians Faction, Thor and Loki are perfect partners for taking on the Barbarians Faction Crypt and working towards earning the Legendary Champion, Lydia the Deathsiren.
