WHY PLAY ANGAR IN RAID: SHADOW LEGENDS?
Being a Legendary Champion, Angar is already one of the most powerful in RAID: Shadow Legends. However, he also boasts a Void Affinity, meaning he isn’t weak to any of the four Affinities in the game.
Angar is a HP-type Champion, and he excels at protecting his allies while dealing significant damage based on his own MAX HP. The best part of Angar’s kit however, is his ability to place a Provoke debuff on all enemies. He can force his opponents to attack him, keeping his allies alive to set up buffs and debuffs to crush the enemy team. He’s an exceptional Champion for many areas of RAID: Shadow Legends, from early-game right through to end-game content.
HOW TO GET ANGAR IN RAID: SHADOW LEGENDS?
Angar can be acquired by summoning him from Void Shards at the Portal. He can also be summoned during select Summon Pool Events at the Portal.
WHAT ARE ANGAR’S SKILLS?
Angar is one of the best Champions in RAID: Shadow Legends when it comes to placing Provoke debuffs on enemies. He can direct an entire enemy team to attack him, while also placing Reflect Damage buffs on his allies and a Counterattack buff on himself to deal additional damage. Check out Angar’s skills in RAID: Shadow Legends now!
- Exacerbate – Attacks 1 enemy 2 times. Places an extra hit if the enemy has a Provoke debuff.
- Infuriate – Attacks all enemies. Places a Provoke debuff on them for 1 turn. Also has a 75% chance of placing a Provoke debuff on them for 2 turns instead. Then places a 30% Reflect Damage buff on all allies for 2 turns. Also places a Counterattack buff on this Champion for 2 turns.
- Bravado [P] – If an enemy with a Provoke debuff attacks this Champion, has a 40% chance of replacing it with another Provoke debuff for 1 turn. Also has a 90% chance of placing a 50% Decrease ATK debuff on an enemy for 1 turn when an enemy under a Provoke debuff attacks an ally. Each hit taken will reduce damage taken by 5% (up to 30% in one round).
Angar also has an Aura that increases all allies’ HP in all battles by 33%.
ANGAR RECOMMENDATIONS
Angar’s primary role in RAID: Shadow Legends is that of a protector who can place Provoke debuffs on the enemy to draw their attacks. This is particularly useful in the Arena, and for taking on the Head of Decay when fighting the Hydra. The Head of Decay can remove debuffs from all Heads, but when under a Provoke debuff, it must attack whoever placed that Provoke debuff.
Across a multitude of PvE and PvP game modes, Angar is a very valuable Champion to have and building him simply requires focus on Accuracy, Speed and HP. Check out our recommendations on how to get the most out of Angar in RAID: Shadow Legends!
MASTERIES
In order to ensure he lands the Provoke debuffs as often as possible, we recommend picking up Masteries from the Support Mastery Tree to increase Angar’s Accuracy stat. Start with Pinpoint Accuracy at Tier 1, and move down the right-hand side to pick up Masteries such as Charged Focus, Swarm Smiter, and Lore of Steel. At Tier 6, be sure to take Eagle-Eye for an extra 50 points of Accuracy to really help land Provoke debuffs.
To complement the Support Masteries, look to the Defense Mastery Tree for additional survivability and to help protect your allies effectively. Tough Skin, Blastproof, and Delay Death are all great picks to help ensure Angar stays alive and keeps his allies in the fight.
GEAR
Whether you’re building Angar to take on PvE content such as the Dungeons, Doom Tower, or Hydra Clan Boss, or PvP content in the Arena, Artifacts and Accessories should be focused on enhancing his Accuracy, Speed, and HP. Angar is a HP-type Champion, meaning his damage scales off his MAX HP, which is why it should be a priority stat.
In terms of specific Sets, we recommend utilizing a combination of Speed, Accuracy, and Perception Artifacts as 2-piece Sets to increase those high-priority stats. Alternatively, you could complete the build with Artifact Sets like Savage for extra damage when Angar is counter-attacking.
BLESSINGS
As a Champion that prioritizes placing Provoke debuffs on the enemy and drawing attacks to himself, Angar will benefit the most from the Polymorph Blessing.
With enemies forced to attack, there is a chance that enemies will turn into harmless Sheep when trying to place debuffs or steal buffs. This can be especially helpful if Angar can go first in Arena to prevent enemies from setting up, turning them into Sheep instead.
Another viable choice would be Cruelty, as Angar can decrease an enemy’s Defenses when counterattacking with his first skill, Exacerbate.
ANGAR TACTICS
Angar is an amazing Champion for any RAID: Shadow Legends team, though there are areas where he particularly excels. Primarily, he’ll be an exceptional addition to your Hydra and Arena teams – able to place Provoke on enemy Champions, or the Head of Decay to prevent it from cleansing all debuffs from other Hydra Heads.
For other areas of RAID: Shadow Legends where Angar will be helpful, check out our recommendations below!
DUNGEONS
In the Dungeons of RAID: Shadow Legends, Angar is a very valuable ally thanks to his Provoke and high HP. Placing Provoke on the Spiderlings in the Spider’s Den will allow your allies to set up debuffs and deal damage without having to worry about them being attacked.
The other Dungeon where Angar shines is the Fire Knight’s Castle. By placing a Reflect Damage buff on all allies, Angar ensures that the Fire Knight’s shield doesn’t stay up for long when he attacks. Angar also places a Counterattack buff on himself for additional hits, meaning your other Champions can again focus on setting up and knocking down the Fire Knight himself.
DOOM TOWER
Generally, Angar is a great pick for clearing waves of enemies in the Normal Rooms when climbing the Doom Tower. As long as his MAX HP is high, you’ll find that Angar can hit hard as well as provoke his enemies.
However, Angar really excels when fighting Kuldath the Magma Dragon. Kuldath is one of a few Bosses that are susceptible to Provoke debuffs, meaning Angar can place Provoke and nullify a lot of Kuldath’s more deadly attacks by forcing him to only use his default skill.
FACTION WARS
Clearing waves of enemies in Faction Wars is made much easier by having Angar place Provoke debuffs and pave the way for harder-hitting allies to crush your enemies. As he is a HP-type Champion, you’ll want to pair Angar with a healer to keep him alive, a Support-type Champion to place defense-decreasing debuffs, and a couple of Attack or Defense-type Champions that can defeat enemies quickly.
ANGAR TEAM COMBINATIONS
As a HP-type Champion who excels at goading and provoking enemies, Angar slots into teams where there is already an existing healer, debuffer, buffer, and attacker. From RAID: Shadow Legends’ catalog of more than 800 Champions, there’s plenty to choose from for each of these roles.
For an Attack-type Champion, you could pick someone like Sun Wukong or Ninja, both of whom are capable of dealing massive damage to enemies. When used alongside Angar, you don’t have to worry about building survivability into their kits as Angar takes all the damage.
In order to maximize the damage output from your damage-dealers, a Champion like Warmaiden offers the chance to land a 60% Decrease Defense debuff on an entire enemy team.
Finally, a Champion like Lightsworn can place 60% Increase Defense buff and a Revive on Death buff on all allies, giving Angar extra survivability when taking hits.
