Madame Serris Champion Guide

Madame Serris is a Void Epic Support Champion from the Dark Elves Faction in RAID: Shadow Legends, best known for removing every buff from the entire enemy team in a single turn. Her kit fully commits to its dark-fantasy theme: a skill called Tricks and Treats, Fear debuffs on almost every skill, and a backstory about an exiled Elven sorceress who turned to necromancy and made her home in a ruined tower filled with mourn-bats.

Her appeal lies in Madame Serris’s ability to turn an enemy team’s protective setup into an open target, which is why she has stayed a regular pick in Arena years after release. For players discovering RAID during the Halloween season, Madame Serris combines the game’s darker fantasy aesthetic with a practical support role that stays useful well beyond October.

Madame Serris at a glance

Role Buff removal, AoE Decrease ATK and Decrease DEF, Fear control
Strongest in Arena Offense speed teams, early-to-mid progression, Dark Elves Faction Wars
Weaker in Damage dealing, late-game Arena against Stoneskin-heavy teams, fights against the Polymorph Blessing
Beginner-friendly? Yes. One skill does most of the work, and her stat priorities are simple.
Investment Low to medium. Skill Tomes matter most on her A2 and A3; A1 Tomes only add damage.

How to Get Madame Serris

Madame Serris can be obtained from Void Shards, and eligible new players can claim her directly through the GETMADAME promo code.

Void Shards. Madame Serris can be summoned from Void Shards without the need for a special boost, so she can be obtained at any time of year, not only during Halloween. Any Void Shard can result in her being summoned, but no single pull is guaranteed. Past Guaranteed Champion Events that featured her have ended, so older guides that point to them are out of date.

Is Madame Serris Good and Worth Building?

Madame Serris is worth building for new and progressing accounts because her Midnight Ritual removes all buffs from every enemy and places both a 50% Decrease ATK and a 60% Decrease DEF debuff in the same turn.

Early in RAID, most accounts have no reliable buff removal and only one or two sources of Decrease DEF. Madame Serris covers both jobs with one Champion, and Decrease DEF increases the damage every other Champion on your team deals. She is also a Void Champion, so she has no Affinity disadvantage against any enemy.

She is not a damage dealer, and she will not carry a team on her own. Her A1 and A2 hit weakly, and her A3 deals no damage at all. Her value is making your damage dealers stronger and your enemies weaker.

Account stage How Madame Serris is used
New account Main debuffer almost everywhere: Campaign, Dungeons, Clan Boss. She is often the only source of Decrease DEF.
Progressing account Second Champion in an Arena speed team, Dark Elves Faction Wars, buff-heavy Doom Tower and Cursed City fights.
Late-game account Situational. Stoneskin and Mercurial Gear are common in high-level Arena, so she is used less there; she stays useful in Faction Wars and lower Arena tiers.

How much she needs. Madame Serris does not need maximum investment to be useful. Prioritize Skill Tomes on Tricks and Treats and Midnight Ritual, build enough Accuracy for the content you play, and she already does her job.

Madame Serris Skills and How to Use Them

Madame Serris’s strongest skill is Midnight Ritual (A3), not Tricks and Treats (A2), because only Midnight Ritual removes every enemy buff and places the Decrease ATK and Decrease DEF debuffs.

Skill What it does When to use it What Skill Tomes change
Panic Spread (A1) Attacks 1 enemy. 20% chance to place Fear, rising to 30% if the target has 1 debuff and 45% if it has 2 or more. Filler turns. Strongest after Midnight Ritual, when targets already carry 2 debuffs. Damage only. Upgrade last.
Tricks and Treats (A2) Attacks all enemies. 40% chance to steal 1 random buff from each. If any buff is stolen, all allies get Block Debuffs for 2 turns, and robbed enemies get True Fear for 1 turn. Against buff-heavy teams, before Midnight Ritual. It steals nothing from enemies without buffs. Steal chance 40% → 50%, cooldown 4 → 3 turns.
Midnight Ritual (A3) Removes all buffs from all enemies, then places 50% Decrease ATK and 60% Decrease DEF on all enemies for 2 turns. Deals no damage. Right before your main damage dealer acts. Cooldown 6 → 4 turns.
Witch’s Grace (Passive) Places a Shield equal to 10% of her MAX HP at the start of each of her turns. When attacked while shielded, 35% chance to place Fear on the attacker. Always active. —

Fear and True Fear, simply explained. When an enemy under Fear tries to use a skill, there is a 50% chance the skill fails and the enemy loses its turn. True Fear works the same way, but the skill it tried to use also goes on cooldown.

Skill order matters. Tricks and Treats can only steal buffs that are still on the enemy, so using it after Midnight Ritual wastes it. When you control her manually:

  1. Use Tricks and Treats first against buffed teams.
  2. Follow with Midnight Ritual.
  3. Use Panic Spread on targets that already carry her two debuffs.

Buff removal can be resisted. Removing buffs must pass the same Accuracy-vs-Resistance check as a debuff. Low Accuracy means Midnight Ritual can fail to strip anything, not only fail to debuff.

Patch history. Patch 2.20 (September 2020) shortened the duration of Midnight Ritual’s debuffs from 3 turns to 2. Guides that describe 3-turn debuffs are outdated.

Madame Serris Stats to Prioritize

Madame Serris needs Accuracy and Speed as equal top priorities, followed by HP, because every part of her main skill must pass Accuracy checks and must happen before your damage dealer acts.

  • Accuracy. Aim for around 25 more Accuracy than the enemy’s Resistance. For new players, 200+ Accuracy is a solid first goal; raise it as you face stronger enemies.
  • Speed. In Arena, she should act right after your Turn Meter booster and before your damage dealer. In PvE, avoid building so much Speed that she acts before enemies have placed any buffs, or Midnight Ritual has nothing to remove.
  • HP%. Choose HP% over DEF% because her passive Shield scales with MAX HP.
  • Skip Critical stats. Her damage is too low for Critical Rate or Critical Damage to matter.
  • New players: stats before Sets. Early Gear rarely gives you full Sets with good stats. Equip the pieces with the most Speed and Accuracy first, and switch to full Sets later.

Base stats at Level 60: 19,650 HP, 1,167 DEF, 100 Speed. Her base Speed of 100 is average, so most of her Speed has to come from Gear, Masteries, and your team’s Speed Aura.

Gear slot Main stat
Gauntlets HP%
Chestplate Accuracy (HP% as an alternative)
Boots Speed
Banner Accuracy
Ring and Amulet HP

Best Gear and Artifact Sets for Madame Serris

The best Gear for Madame Serris depends on where you use her, because Arena rewards acting early and protection from Polymorph, while PvE mostly rewards raw Accuracy and Speed.

Build goal Sets Why it works
Arena Offense (strongest) Supersonic (Cursed City) + Pinpoint (Event Dungeons) Supersonic fills her Turn Meter when enemies receive buffs, so she acts quickly to remove them. 4 Pinpoint pieces give her an Intercept stack each round, which counters Polymorph.
Arena with Block Debuffs Feral (Siege) Adds Accuracy and Speed. 4 pieces give her Block Debuffs for 2 turns at the start of each Round; 6 pieces add a 50% chance to block Polymorph’s Sheep debuff.
Beginner / budget Speed, Accuracy, or Perception, mixed Easy to farm early, and each Set adds one of her two key stats.
PvE Speed, Perception, Accuracy Consistent debuffs matter more than Set effects against Bosses and waves.

Best Masteries, Blessings, and Relics for Madame Serris

Madame Serris should take the Support Tree in every mode because its Accuracy Masteries directly increase how often Midnight Ritual lands.

  • Arena, Doom Tower, Faction Wars: Support Tree with Pinpoint Accuracy, Shieldbearer, Swarm Smiter, Lore of Steel, Evil Eye, Master Hexer, and Eagle-Eye. Defense Tree with Defiant, Improved Parry, Rejuvenation, Shadow Heal, Wisdom of Battle, Delay Death, Cycle of Revenge, and Retribution for survivability.
  • Campaign, Clan Boss, Dungeons: Offense Tree toward Warmaster (Deadly Precision, Keen Strike, Single Out, Bring it Down, Methodical, Warmaster). Support Tree with Pinpoint Accuracy, Shieldbearer, Charged Focus, Arcane Celerity, Rapid Response, Lore of Steel, Cycle of Magic, Lasting Gifts, and Master Hexer. Cycle of Magic and Lasting Gifts give a chance to keep her Block Debuffs up longer.
  • Blessings: Emergency Heal is the standard recommendation. Chainbreaker, Dark Resolve, or Indomitable Spirit help her survive crowd control in Arena. Commanding Presence works if your Arena team does not already have it.
  • Relics: Molten Deathbell increases her Turn Meter when she applies Fear or True Fear. Wand of Submission and Hand of Uncreation are strong alternatives.

Common build mistakes:

  • Spending Tomes on Panic Spread before Tricks and Treats and Midnight Ritual.
  • Stacking DEF% instead of HP%, which weakens her Shield.
  • Building Critical stats she cannot use.
  • Leaving her skill priorities on default in Arena (see below).

How to Use Madame Serris in Arena

Madame Serris is strongest in Arena because many defensive Arena teams rely on protective buffs, and Midnight Ritual can remove them while applying Decrease DEF and Decrease ATK.

Turn order. The classic sequence is Turn Meter booster → Madame Serris → damage dealer. Her 60% Decrease DEF makes the following nuke hit much harder. If the nuke does not finish the fight, her 50% Decrease ATK reduces the damage your team takes on the counterattack.

Set her Skill Instructions. In content creators’ testing, Madame Serris on Auto often opens with Tricks and Treats instead of Midnight Ritual unless enemies carry many buffs. In your team setup, set Midnight Ritual to both Opener and 1st Choice:

  • Opener makes her use it on her first turn of the battle.
  • 1st Choice makes her use it every time it is off cooldown, including after a teammate resets skill cooldowns.

Madame Serris in Speed Teams

Madame Serris fits Arena speed teams as the second Champion to act, after a Turn Meter booster and before the damage dealers.

  • Stoneskin. Stoneskin has a 50% chance to block buff removal or stealing, so one attempt often fails. Running two or three Champions who remove buffs gives you several chances to break it.
  • Tuning. She must be slower than your booster, so the booster acts first and fills her Turn Meter, and faster than your damage dealer, so her debuffs land before the nuke. Check the Speed of your Champions before your first Arena fight and adjust Madame Serris’s Speed Gear accordingly until she consistently acts second.

Madame Serris for Arena Defense

Madame Serris is a useful Arena Defense support because her passive Shield and Fear punish attackers, and her Tricks and Treats can give her whole team Block Debuffs against debuff-based openers.

Arena Defense teams cannot use Saved Team presets, but you can still set Skill Instructions for them through the slider icon in the defense setup. Give her the same Opener and 1st Choice settings as on offense. Her impact on defense still depends on Speed: if the attacking team acts first and kills her, she contributes nothing. Treat her as a defensive support for early and mid Arena tiers rather than a centerpiece of high-rank defense.

What Counters Madame Serris

Counter Why it hurts her What to do
Polymorph Blessing Removing buffs can activate the enemy’s Polymorph and turn her into a Sheep. Use 4+ Pinpoint pieces (Intercept counters Polymorph) or 6+ Feral pieces (50% chance to block Sheep).
Stoneskin 50% chance to block buff removal. Add a second or third buff remover.
High Resistance teams Midnight Ritual’s removal and debuffs can be resisted. Raise Accuracy before adding more Speed.
Faster enemies They act before she removes their buffs. Speed Aura, Turn Meter booster, Supersonic Gear.
Teams without buffs Tricks and Treats steals nothing, and Midnight Ritual has nothing to remove. Her Decrease DEF and Decrease ATK still apply, but her value is lower.

Best Teams for Madame Serris

Madame Serris works best alongside a Turn Meter booster who lets her act first and a damage dealer who takes advantage of her Decrease DEF.

Classic Arena speed team: Arbiter → Madame Serris → Kymar → Sun Wukong.

  • Arbiter boosts the team’s Turn Meter.
  • Madame Serris, Kymar, and Sun Wukong can all remove every buff from all enemies, which gives three chances to break through Stoneskin.
  • Sun Wukong then deals damage into Decrease DEF.

Against tanky teams this is reliable. Replacing Sun Wukong with a harder-hitting nuker ends many fights in one turn.

Fear control team: Grand Oak Padraig → Madame Serris → Lord Entertainer Fabian → Foris.

  • Padraig provides Turn Meter, Increase DEF, a cleanse, and Increase SPD.
  • Madame Serris and Fabian both spread Fear and True Fear.
  • Foris gains extra power against enemies under Fear.

This is a fun, less common option rather than a top meta team.

New-player template: your fastest Turn Meter booster or Speed Aura Champion → Madame Serris → your strongest AoE damage dealer → a healer or reviver. You do not need specific Legendary Champions for her to work; the role order matters more than the names.

Swap tip: against teams that rely on Freeze, replace one damage slot with an anti-Freeze specialist.

Madame Serris in Dungeons and PvE

Madame Serris is a solid PvE debuffer for progressing accounts, but her debuffs last 2 turns on a skill that can only be used every 4 turns at best, so dedicated debuffers eventually replace her in long Boss fights.

Content Value Why
Faction Wars (Dark Elves) High Buff-heavy Stages, and she belongs to the Dark Elves Faction.
Doom Tower floors, hard waves High Hard waves often buff themselves; buff removal keeps them manageable.
Cursed City: Amius High Removes the buffs Amius gains after converting debuffs into buffs.
Ice Golem, Minotaur High Rated among her best Dungeons by community tier lists.
Clan Boss Medium Good early, but her debuffs cannot be maintained without gaps.
Iron Twins, Sand Devil, Fire Knight Hard Low Rated weak by community tier lists; other specialists do these fights better.

Wave control: Madame Serris does not clear waves; her damage is too low. In wave content she keeps dangerous enemy buffs from stacking while other Champions do the fighting.

Madame Serris vs Other Debuffers and Support Champions

Madame Serris stands out among buff removers because she combines full AoE buff removal with AoE Decrease ATK and Decrease DEF in one skill, but other Champions handle Polymorph and rebuffing better.

Alternative type Examples Better than Madame Serris at Worse than Madame Serris at
Decrease Buff Duration Lord Entertainer Fabian, Andryssia Do not trigger the Polymorph Blessing Do not place Decrease ATK and Decrease DEF in the same move
Remove Buffs + Block Buffs Mighty Ukko, King Gallcobar Stop enemies from rebuffing after the strip Ukko removes only 2 buffs per hit
Remove Buffs + hard control Hilvi the Rime-called (Freeze, HP Burn), Starsage Galathir (Block Active Skills), Harvest Jack (True Fear) Heavier crowd control on top of removal No AoE Decrease ATK and Decrease DEF in the same move
Pure healer — Restore HP after damage is taken Cannot prevent damage the way Decrease ATK does, and cannot remove Unkillable, Block Damage, or Counterattack

When to choose Madame Serris: you need one Champion to remove buffs and weaken the whole enemy team, and you do not yet have a Legendary buff remover.

When to choose something else: enemies run Polymorph often, or you need to stop enemies from rebuffing.

Is Madame Serris Worth Investing in Long Term?

How much to invest in Madame Serris changes as your account grows: her main costs, Skill Tomes on two skills and Speed and Accuracy Gear, pay off most from the first weeks of play through mid-game Arena.

  • First weeks: increase her Level and Rank, use Tomes for Midnight Ritual and Tricks and Treats, and Gear her for Speed and Accuracy. She covers debuffs across Campaign and Dungeons.
  • Mid-game: specialize her for Arena with Supersonic or Pinpoint Gear, and Arena Masteries. This is where she earns most of her value.
  • Late game: additional investment becomes more situational. Stoneskin and Mercurial Gear limit her in high-level Arena, but she remains useful in Faction Wars, buff-heavy waves, and fast Arena wins against lower-tier teams. Her Speed and Accuracy Gear moves to your next buff remover.
